Product Description Only Schwinn® can leverage more than 100 years of cycling expertise into better-engineered fitness products, and the Schwinn® 230 Recumbent Bike, with its walk-through design and scores of innovative features, is no exception.
Amazon.com Product Description Save money on monthly gym fees and get yourself in shape with the compact, comfortable Schwinn 230 recumbent exercise bike. The 230 boasts many of the high-quality features of the Schwinn 213, but adds several extras, including a nicer, easier-to-read instrument panel with a three-position angle adjustment, a slightly lower pedal height that produces a more comfortable riding position, and an easy step-through frame. And that doesn't even account for all the essentials, which range from 16 resistance levels to handlebars with an integrated heart rate monitor built into the grip. The handiest feature, however, is unquestionably the anatomically designed recumbent seat, which not only offers a dual-position lumbar support for added comfort, but also a micro-adjustable fore/aft seat slider that accommodate a variety of body types and sizes. Other details include six preset programs (calorie goal, BMI measurement, recovery test, results mode,

They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

Great bike March 10, 2010 Loli Gallega (Matawan, NJ) Instructions were pretty clear to follow in putting the bike together. It did take me 5 hours but I was being very cautious and that's probably good for an elderly woman. Very pleased with the comfort, quality and program selections. All works fine and has all the bells and whistles I need.
Wonderful purchase! March 4, 2010 Nebraska Shopper (Lincoln, NE) I had been having back troubles with a bulging disc. All recommendations were that exercise would help. I bought the Schwinn recumbent bike several weeks ago and have been riding 30 minutes a day. My back problems have improved dramatically and I feel much better. The bike was easy to put together and is so quiet. You can watch TV very comfortable and not have to turn the sound up. The front piece was cracked in shipping but felt it would be more hassle to send back and would not impede any of the functions of the bike. I would highly recommend this wonderful bike!
Product is Fine - NORDIC TRACK C/S HORRIBLE March 3, 2010 EASY D2112 Sorry for the rant. I purchased the new Nordic Track C4 si and it is a very nice machine. Nordic Track although has some of the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. The bike came within a few days of ordering 2/11/2010. Although Nordic Track ships the power pack (power cord) seperately (not sure why). It is now 3/3/2010 and I have talked to Nordic Track customer service atleast ten times and have been sent to every dept. that supposedly handles power packs. Why is it that you buy a $700 machine and it doesn't come with a power cord??? I have been told buy multiple customer service representatives that the package is shipping or has been shipped but they can't produce a tracking number. When asked to speak with a supervisor, I have been hung up on or placed on hold forever (50 minutes before I hung up. CAUTION!!!
good purchase March 2, 2010 B. Bahr (columbus, oh) Read quite a few reviews before purchase and it stands up to them all. This model was no longer carried in the store and was the one that was rated well by Consumer Reports. Box arrived slightly crunched but parts all intact. Very easy to put together even though i would agree to put together the display part first and feed the wires down the tube and attach vs. the directions saying the opposite.
Is a pretty quiet ride and the only downside my husband finds but i'm fine with it is he has trouble reading the display. Good bike for the money
very pleased with bike and amazon March 2, 2010 beachlady (Delaware) After knee surgery, my doctor recommended swimming or bike riding to strengthen both knees. I decided on a recumbent bike and spent alot of time researching brands and reviews before deciding on a Schwinn. The holidays and a lack of vendors in my area, made finding and trying the bike a problem. I was not keen on ordering sight unseen over the internet. The Schwinn 230 was a contender and when this bike went on sale on Amazon.com, I jumped at the price (even though I was still concerned about ordering a heavy expensive item before seeing/trying it). However, 1 1/2 hours passed from the time I saw the sale and deciding to order, and by then, the bike was sold out but I had the option of wait listing. I decided to order. Within days, I received notice the bike had shipped and the carrier was Fed Ex. Normally I do not have great luck with this carrier, but the bike arrived 2 days head of schedule and first thing in the morning! The package arrived in good shape, all parts were in the box and it took my husband about 30 minutes (he is mechanically inclined!) to assemble.
I ride between 5 and 7 days a week and love this bike. My goal was to first strengthen my knees and then benefit from the exercise, and I am seeing results. I find the bike easy to use, it has more resistance levels than I probably need, and is comfortable and quiet. The price was the best I found, and the special included free shipping. I definitely recommend this bike and am very happy with my Amazon experience.
